Our Story
We are Ty and Tokie Morgan and we are so glad you found us and our farm, Southern Sunny Acres!
We didn't start Southern Sunny Acres to build a big business. We started it because we wanted to raise food the right way and share it with the people around us.
This farm is rooted in something older than us. It's named after Tokie's grandparents' farm in Nebraska - Sunny Acres, where fresh food and community went hand in hand and that stuck with us.
What began with a small number of broilers in East Texas grew through neighbors, word of mouth, and relationships built face-to-face. One family at a time.
Over the past decade, we've prioritized learning how to farm in a way that works with nature, not against it. Raising pasture-raised proteins without chemicals, or synthetic fertilizers, and focusing on practices that care for the soil, the animals, and the food itself.
We believe food should actually nourish you - the way it's mean to. And we saw a real gap between what people were looking for and what they could easily find. So we set out to make clean, locally produced food more accessible to families across East Texas.
So we've kept things simple - raise it right, be honest about it, and make it easier for families to access food they feel good about bringing home.
We're a family-run, Veteran-owned farm, and we approach this work with care, humility, and a clear intention in how we show up each day.
Because at the end of the day, it's not about what's on the table, it's about knowing where it came from - and feeling good about it.
We look forward to meeting you in person!
Our Mission
To raise food the right way and help families feel confident in what they're bringing to their table.
At Southern Sunny Acres, we understand the importance of knowing what's in the food you’re buying. So we promise that we will:
* Grow Clean, Honest Food: We raise it without the extra stuff. We keep it simple, producing food raised without unnecessary additives or shortcuts.
* Raise it the Right Way: Care goes into every step, from feeding to raising, everything is done with intention.
* Be Open and Transparent: You should know where your food comes from. We will be clear, transparent, and always willing to answer questions.
* Local and Direct: The food raised comes from our farm to your family. No unnecessary middle steps - just direct connection.
* Quality You Can Taste: Better practices lead to better flavor and consistency. Our food speaks for itself.
